Current Ashtabula Dojo Procedures
We want you to be safe, so the new protocols and procedures for how the class will run until it is safer to return to normal class functions.  I want to let those that are not comfortable yet come back to class I understand and will keep your memberships on hold until you do come back to class.  This means your class fee will be prorated depending on when you return.  We are watching the COVID-19 levels in our community and safety protocols will change depending on levels.
There will be hand sanitizer available as well as the dojo will be cleaned between classes as in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Okay, now how this is going to work.
  1. If you feel sick or have been sick please do not come to class.
  2. Please come dressed in at least your Gi pants as it is recommended that you not change clothes at the dojo.
  3. If COVID levels are High or Medium - Students must wear a mask to protect others.  It must cover both mouth and nose.
  4. There will be no spectators allowed.  I know this might be tough for some parents.
  5. Prior to entering the dojo you will have your temperature taken.
  6. Please keep your notebook and water with you.
  7. You will each have a ring assigned to you.
  8. You are to maintain social distancing and so some of what we normally have done will be put on hold until we can return to completely normal.
  9. Try to use the rest room before you come to class.
  10. Students will have a scheduled dismissal with a couple of minutes between each student or family of students.  Parents should be meeting their children outside the dojo at the prescribed time.
I know this might seem like a lot different and I hope that we can go back to the way we trained for the last decades.  Please bear with us as we try to keep you safe as it says in our virtue number 10- We shall be loyal to ourselves, martial artists and our country. We want to keep ourselves safe and well, we don’t want to make our family members sick, and we want to help keep our country safe by slowing the spread of this disease to our community.
